All donations are  definitely “suggested donations.”  Although the monks need to raise funds to support their refugee monatery in India, first and foremost, they wish to inspire the public and inform them about the religion and culture of Tibet.  If a coordinator thinks the public cannot provide the “suggested” amount, he or she should not let this stand in the way of the monks providing the programs.  We gladly accept whatever can be provided.

NO ONE SHOULD BE TURNED AWAY IF HE OR SHE DOES NOT WISH TO DONATE

However, the following schedule indicates what the monks have been offered on their previous tours and can be a guideline for you and your friends in deciding how much the public can be asked to contribute.

Powerpoint Presentations About Tibet, Tashi Kyil Monastery, Death & Dying

We ask that a donation basket be placed at the door. (Suggested donation is $10)

Sacred Sand Mandalas

Peace Mandala:  This mandala takes five monks three days of work (all day long) to construct. The mandala is made out of tiny particles of sand.   We suggest that the public raise $2,000 for this mandala.  If this is not possible, the monks will be happy with whatever is donated.

Avalokiteshavara (Chenrezig, the Deity of Compassion):  This mandala takes five monks five days to construct.  We suggest that the public raise $3,000 for this mandala. If this is not possible, the monks will be happy with whatever is donated.
